This is my story . . . .

Firstly, thank you for coming to our site. I truly hope that my story might be an inspiration for you to go ahead and give yourself permission to have your own boudoir experience, and to show your body and soul some much needed love and admiration. I am Karen & together with my wonderful husband Dean, have been helping women learn to love their bodies again for the past 14 odd years. This is my boudoir experience that Dean and I did for my 60th birthday in 2019. The last boudoir photography experience I had was when I was 52 years of age, just a year after I went through treatment for breast cancer, so for us it was a celebration of surviving that nasty ordeal. Dean and I thought it was time to do another, and to show you lovely ladies that you don’t have to be 20 years of age and have a perfect body to enjoy one of these session and to get great photos. We are all beautiful no matter what age, shape or size. 

Like many of you out there, I have had children, one of which was a "C" section, and now have grandchildren. I have the scars of over 60 years to show my life journey, and as the song goes "I ache in the places I used to play" (Leonard Cohen). I've survived breast cancer, 10 years past now, and now have one breast larger than the other and of course, sadly, they no longer sit where they used to (sad face). But, Dean doesn't ever seem to notice that. Only I do, and isn't that true of most of us women.

I do realise that I have an advantage over you ladies, as I have been helping our lovely clients to pose in boudoir sessions now for the past 14 years, so I have a great head start there, and, I was not nervous as the photographer was my lovely husband of nearly 15 years. But in saying that, I still got the same kick out of it that I know you will, and I still felt very proud of myself once I had seen the final images. It is quite an uplifting process and is a great confidence builder. 

Because I have done the session I do know how difficult some of the poses are to do and how hard and cold the floor is for the poses that look so relaxed there but truly are not. My boudoir session included a mix of implied nude, boudoir and portraiture photographs. We stuck to a soft natural light for me as flash lighting makes those nasty wrinkles & wiggly bits look worse than they are. On the other hand, our soft natural light that we have in our studio really softens off those nasties. We decided to video the session to show you the process and the before and after results. A story that I hear a lot from husbands who book boudoir sessions for their wives is that they want their wife to see herself in the same way that he sees her. To be able to see just how beautiful she truly is. Sadly, so many women do not see their beauty at all, they just see their faults. Whereas their husbands see the beauty. Dean and I want to help you change that. To become a happier, more confident and empowered woman, and in turn that will improve your happiness, health and your marriage.

For those ladies who are not in a relationship, a boudoir experience is amazing 'just for you'. To celebrate you and to feel more comfortable and secure in who you are. Images that you will look back on in 20 years and know that they helped you to take an important step in your own personal growth. 

Dean and I know how to pose all bodies and how to achieve amazing photos with the right angles, poses, outfits and lighting. Dean and I are both over 50 years of age (I am over 60 in fact) so we are mature, and I feel this makes our clients a lot more comfortable. Women over 50 years do not want to be photographed by somebody younger than their kids. Because we are of your generation, we can enjoy a chat and a good laugh together and it doesn't take long for you to feel as though we are old friends.

Because we photograph all styles of photography for women, including artistic nude, vintage, and glamour, it means that you can combine several styles in your session according to your comfort level. You are also welcome to include your partner/husband in your session for some romantic images together if you wish. 

Our sessions all begin with a beautiful relaxing makeover which will make you feel amazing so consider booking a night out afterwards to take advantage of your awesome hair and makeup. We have several wonderful hair & makeup artists who are excellent with mature skin and makeup. With mature skin, less is more, and our artists do a fantastic job. They will listen to you and do just what you want and, if you don't have a clue, don't worry, they know exactly what will look great for you.
